When reality goes beyond fiction
An aurora is a natural light display in the sky, particularly in the polar regions, caused by the collision of charged particles directed by the Earth’s magnetic field.
These phenomenon are commonly visible between 60 and 72 degrees north and south latitudes, which place them in a ring just within the Artic and Antartic polar circles.
Only a lucky handful of us will ever see an aurora in person. Fortunately, Terje Sorgjerd took this amazing video footage of the biggest aurora borealis in recent years. He spent a week in and around Kirkenes and Pas National Park bordering Rusia, when temperatures were around -25ÂșC.
Enjoy the most beautiful natural phenomenon of the Earth.
