Take a picture of your past
When we remember our childhood or some past event we always see pictures in our minds. This beautiful project invites us to photograph these memories in the same places where they occurred.
Take a picture of your past in the present.

We love Edward Scissorhands
Can you believe that it’s been over 20 years since the movie Edward Scissorhands first debuted? Starring Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder, it will live on as one of those classic and artistic Tim Burton films that beautifully rode the edge between romance and fantasy. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, artist Seb Mesnard set up a blog where he asked talented and aspiring artists from around...

The truth behind the logo
Viktor Hertz is on a roll! After his clever Pictogram Movie Posters went viral, you would have thought that he’d sit back and take a break. Instead, Hertz pumped out this hilarious set called Honest Logos which he describes as “revealing the actual content of the company” or “what they really should be called.”
Do you agree? :)

Simple is better
Viktor Hertz combines two of his greatest hobbies, graphic design and film, into a clever series starring pictograms! Often seen on signs or instruction manuals, pictograms serve as our universal language, a way for all of us to quickly figure out where we’re going or what we’re (not) allowed to do. To him, this set became Hertz’s “form of expression,” a way to...

When reality goes beyond fiction
An aurora is a natural light display in the sky, particularly in the polar regions, caused by the collision of charged particles directed by the Earth’s magnetic field.
These phenomenon are commonly visible between 60 and 72 degrees north and south latitudes, which place them in a ring just within the Artic and Antartic polar circles.
Only a lucky handful of us will ever see an aurora in...

Too many screws? Get rid of them artistically
Andrew Myers creates incredible 3D portraits by driving thousands of screws into plywood.
The technic is “simple”:
- He starts with a base, plywood panel and then places pages of a phone book on top.
- He then draws out a face and pre-drills 8000 to 10000 holes, by hand.
- As he drills in the screws, he doesn’t use any software to guide him, he figures it out as...

A little numbered typographic inspiration by German graphic designer Kid Grandiose. He created this project entitled One Hundred where he drew a hundred double digit numbers from 00 to 99, incorporated them into graphic landscapes. The result is very graphic and original. All these works are named Objects and achieve an amazing effect on the viewer who suddenly feels an enthusiastic admiration for everyday objects.

Baris Özbiçer is photography director in Bal, Semih Kaplanoglu’s last movie. We watched it and we just felt in love with the ambiance created by Baris, who built up some kind of Vermeer’s-looking lighting sets which we totally loved.
